Jon Allison has lived and worked in Kendal, Cumbria, since 1993 when he co-founded the popular Kentdale Rambler outdoor shop. Now, having finally "retired" from some 25 years in the world of the outdoor equiptment retail, he has declared it payback time and is finally back where he belongs- outdoors!
Nowadays he is more likely to be found up some distant mountain behind the lens, rather than satisfying his earlier obession if hanging from his fingertips on the Lakeland Crags where his passion for photography began. Jon works entirely in digital format, and currently prefers to use his Canon EOS1D Mk11 SLR combined with a range of prime lenses, also from Canon, to produce high resolution images of the utmost quality. The secret however, is still to be out there early in the right place at the right time, essential practice for all landscape photographers, and Jon will often be found on the mountain tops at dawn "chasing the light". He is renowned for producing a stunning range of panoramic mountain prints.
