Back road to Hartsop (2 hours)
Leave car at Patterdale Hotel car park - Turn LEFT on to main road, pass White Lion Hotel and 50 yards beyond take road offf to LEFT. Walk up to first lane off to RIGHT. Continue on this path until the lane finally ends where the road leads up into Hartsop village - Turn RIGHT - Walk to small car park and take footpath which is sign posted - This will keep you away from the busy road for a spell - when footpath ends rejoin main road and you now have about 3 mile along road to Glenridding and the hotel.
REMARKS Dont forget to collect your car if you have left it at Patterdale. Most of the main road walking has a footpath along side. Easy walking but as always boots are best or else sensible shoes
