Ullswater Grounds (Half hour)
Turn RIGHT on leaving Hotel - walk on footpath - passing petrol station - at top of slight hill and directly against the GLENRIDDING sign a path leads off into a wooded walk with the lake on the immediate right.
REMARKS There are several setas on this very short walk from where one can enjoy the peace and quiet of our beautiful Lake Ullswater - you may be lucky and see red squirrels !
High Road (3/4 Hour)
Cross road on leaving hotel and walk up side road with the beck on your RIGHT - Keep on past white farmhouse and 50 yards on Turn RIGHT -Keep on the well defined path, passing Gillside camping field and on reaching road junction Turn RIGHT again up a slight hill to join the main village road - Walk 50 yards up the hill to road going off to you RIGHT - continue on the track until main road is reached - Turn RIGHT again. Hotel 5 minutes walk along the road
REMARKS Very easy walk a bit rough in places, but with flat shoes no problem to anyone. Lovely views of the Head of the Lake and looking up into Patterdale - also one can see the layour of the village from the old High Road.
