At the Best Western Glenridding Hotel we are offering our traditional New Year package which has proved so attractive in the past. We have our usual log fires, good food and friendly staff ready to cater for your every need. Our aim is to offer excellent value over the holiday and share this extra special occasion with you as we welcome in the New Year.
Here's just a taste of what you have to look forward to:
30 December
We welcome guests from 3.00pm and we will be serving tea in the lounge to help you settle in. In the evening join us for canapes and a glass of bubbly at a reception hosted by the hotel's management team. This is the perfect opportunity to meet your host, along with friends old and new.Why not take a moment to select the wine to accompany your meal. A welcome dinner (6 courses!) will feature the best of our local Cumberland produce. For those of you who are competitive we have a domino knockout championship after dinner and there is a prize for the winner.
New Years Eve
After a hearty, traditional full breakfast you can choose to spend the day relaxing in front of the fire or building up an appetite on one of our many local walks. There is probably time for a quick swim before you join us in the lounge this evening. A candlelit Black tie dinner will be served in the dining room, then dance the night away, pausing only to to welcome in the New Year. For those of you whose get up and go hasn't got up and gone, a late supper is served in the library.
New Years Day
Don't worry about having to rise too early for breakfast, today we serve a late leisurely brunch. As well as our usual Cumbrian breakfast, we'll be serving haggis and kedgeree accompanied, of couse, by a glass of Bucks Fizz! Clear your head by midday and join us on the bridge for the Great Glenridding Boat Race. There's a prize for the winner! On return from your days adventure we are serving tea in our lounge. Dinner tonight will be a more informal affair.
