Back in July BEST WESTERN Glenridding Hotel took on a monster challenge. 24 hours were given to create a monster sticky toffee pudding. Not only that but the hotel didn't know until the day who they were against, it was michelin star Sharrow Bay.
When you arrive at The BEST WESTERN Glenridding Hotel, it’s no wonder you get a feeling of coming home..The bright yet calming decor is contemporary yet in tune with the Hotel's history. The staff greet you with a smile that is natural and warm. They aim to soothe away the stress of travelling and give you a sense of welcome rarely found in hotels today. The Glenridding Hotel is now in the fifth year with its present owners, and has been lovingly restored. Our library has memorabilia from Sir Donald Campbell who set the world water speed record in 1955 on Ullswater itself, directly behind the Hotel. There are two restaurants: Ratchers, which offers diners a medley of food with a Mediterranean influence downstairs, and a fine dining restaurant upstairs called “The Garden Room”.
The Garden room offers a sense of luxury and space with the benefit of magnificent views of the surrounding fells. This truly opulent restaurant seats up to 120 people which is open to both residents and non residents every evening. We offer an extensive al a carte menu which is produced from the finest local ingredients. We can cater for any particular dietary requirements and are happy to take special requests in advance
